June India Report

District 1
Trained 87 people in 7 villages.  During one of the trainings a girl was bitten by a poisonous snake and was declared brain dead by the local hospital.  The hospital's doctor had tried everything to help the girl but finally decided that what was best was to take her home and wait for the rest of her body to stop functioning.  Two of our training volunteers were summoned and they came and prayed for her for half an hour.  The called on the Lord to heal and restore the girl's life.  The girl started to breathe heavy, then she opened her eyes and her life was restored.  The doctor was called and he came to treat the girl further.  She is now completely healthy.  The news of this miracle spread throughout the area and many are now open to the gospel because of what God has done. This district is reporting 13 new house groups, 7 new house churches and 39 baptisms.

 

District 2
Trained 59 people in 4 villages.  In one village there was a women involved in sorcery and fortune telling. She had a great deal of influence over the village and even had the power to bring sickness on people and had the power to heal.  Our trainers came to this village and began the training.  On day two of the training one of the trainers became very ill with vomiting and a very high fever.  Our volunteers began to pray for the trainer and conduct spiritual warfare on his behalf.  It came to be known that the source of the trainer's bad health was a spell and curse that the woman had put on the trainers.  The team of prayer warriors approached the sorceress and told her about the healing power of Jesus.  They fasted and prayed for her in Jesus' name.  Praise God that this woman was healed spiritually and immediately left all her ways of magic and sorcery.  On the last day of the training she committed her life to Christ and her family followed her step of faith and villagers have also started coming to the local groups.  This district is reporting 13 new house groups and 5 new house churches.

 

District 3

Trained 79 people in 6 villages.  One of our volunteers was awakened at midnight by a knock at his door.  He opened the door and found a man and woman crying with a dying child in their arms.  He knew they needed his prayers.  The tribal couple had pleaded with their gods in vain.  The village doctors had also done all they could do, but the little boy kept getting worse.  The grieving parents were ready to give up hope when someone remembered there was a Christian in the village who prayed for people.  Our volunteer anointed the child with oil and began to pray in the name of Jesus.  Then he told the parents to be at peace and to take their child home.  The next morning the news spread through the village that the child was completely well.  The parents began to follow Jesus instead of their old gods and now our volunteer is discipling and training the family and others in the village.  This district is reporting 14 new house groups, 9 new house churches and 39 baptisms. 

 

District 4
Trained 88 people in 8 villages.  One young lady, who was a new Christian, saw her faith become even more real as a tumor from which she was suffering started to vanish before her eyes.  This happened as she listened to someone tell stories of how Jesus healed.  A few days later she heard that a local politician who belonged to a fanatic fundamentalist party  had been bedridden for a couple of months and his body had become completely stiff.  The young lady went to the politician's home and offered to pray for him.  The man's relatives told her to go away, but she persisted sharing that Jesus can even raise people from the dead. They let her in and she pushed her way through the people and laid her hands on the man's hands.  As she prayed, the man's hands started to move, frightening those who were present.  This made her even more bold and she turned to the people and said that they needed to declare that Jesus is Lord and Savior.  They did and she continued to pray and the man's body began to loosen up in front of all who were there.  The politician and his family are now following Jesus.  Members of the political party reported this man to the police for breaking the anti-conversion laws, but nothing has happened.  The last report we have is that 13 people in this man's family have now been baptized. This district is reporting 9 new house groups and 4 new house churches.

 

District 5

Trained 57 people in 7 villages.  In one village our trainers heard that there was a girl who was possessed by demons.  Some of the village wanted the Christians to pray and some did not.  The trainer and some volunteers went to where the girl was. There was a witch doctor also there who was demanding money and goats to drive the demons out.  Our trainer prayed and immediately the girl was delivered.  The people who were there were greatly shocked.  The next day, many came to knock at the door of the man who had prayed. They wanted him to pray for them as well.  He began to share the gospel and many people were freed from demons and many repented of their sins.  Within one week, more than 250 people from this village and neighboring villages were baptized.  In another village there was a young man who was taking many drugs and smoking hashish.  One of our trainers visited this young man's village.  As our trainer entered this village he was greeted by several people, including the young man with the drug problem.  As our trainer shook the hand of the young man they both felt what was like an electrical shock.  The young man was instantly freed from his drug addiction.  He spent the rest of the day asking our trainer question after question.  The next morning, the young man and several of his friends were baptized.  This district is reporting 13 new house groups and 7 new house churches.

 

District 6

Trained 81 people in 8 villages.  Two of our volunteers were passing through a village and were asked to pray for a man who had been bedridden for 20 years.  They prayed for the man and promised to return in one week.  When they came back, the formerly bedridden man walked out to meet them.  "I have accepted Jesus Christ with great faith!" he cried.  "He has helped me and given me a new life.  My whole family believes in him, and we will praise him all our lives!"  Praise God for his wonder-working power, which heals both body and spirit.  Ask God to mature these new believers and use their testimony to start many more churches in this area.  In another village there was a woman who was possessed by an evil spirit.  Her family had taken her to many witch doctors and temples and had sought to appease many different gods and goddesses, but nothing had helped.  Once, the demon put the woman in a coma for 6 days.  One day, one of our volunteers visited the house where the woman lived.  The woman listened as Christ was shared and she accepted the Lord.  The trainer then felt he needed to pray and fast for her for three days and he asked her to attend a prayer meeting on the third day.  As they prayed, the woman was released from the bondage of the demon.  This impressed the witnesses who were there and 17 of them accepted Jesus that very day.  This district is reporting 18 new house groups and 54 baptisms.

 

District 7

Trained 97 people in 9 villages.  In one village a poor woman had a sick goat.  In spite of all of the medicines and religious mantras, the goat had reached the end of its life and could hardly breathe.  Everyone in the village had given the goat up for dead.  Everyone, except the poor woman.  She went to the local Christians.  They prayed and the goat stood up, instantly healed.  The entire village was astonished and some 25 people were baptized.  In other villages the Lord has recently worked miracles in the lives of 8 practitioners of black magic, bringing them to Christ.  One of the magicians, an elderly man, had worked as a magic healer for many years.  Although many sought his cures, he could not, ironically, do anything about the illnesses from which he and his family suffered. After years of suffering and questioning his own practices he requested prayer from one of the believers who had invited our group of trainers to do training in this village.  When the gospel was explained to this man and his family both he and his wife experienced spiritual and physical healing.  Now they share their testimony of deliverance with those who visit them as well as pray for healing in Jesus' name.  In another village, the wife of one of the 8 magicians became ill and was unable to speak or eat.  After four days, the magician sought help from Christians who were fasting and praying. When our team of trainers and volunteers prayed for her she was again able to speak and eat.  Another magician had been practicing sorcery for 30 years and was strongly opposed when some of the families in his village accepted Christ.  He planned to attack the training team who was going from house to house to pray and share in Jesus' name.  Before he could execute his plan he was struck with an extremely high fever and became very weak.  His black magic and witchcraft were of no use.  Neighboring witch doctors were equally powerless.  His health deteriorated in two days and he was taken to the hospital, but even the doctors saw no hope for the man.  Three days later, in desperation, he called his magician friends who had accepted Jesus and asked them to pray for him.  Within a few hours of their prayer his kidneys began to function.  Having gained faith in Christ he requested prayer for his full recovery and this too happened.  This man and his entire family have placed their faith in Jesus and committed their lives to Him.  This district is reporting 9 new house churches and 48 baptisms.

 

District 8

Trained 74 people in 5 villages.  In one village there is a farmer who accepted Christ during one of our trainings.  He is also the head over 23 other villages.  In addition to his farming, he is devoting his full time to evangelism and training and praying for the sick.  He especially loves to pray for the sick as he has learned that this requires no special training and qualifications.  He has also offered his home for conducting temporary school for discipleship and has given full access to all 23 villages for evangelism and starting churches.  God has used this man of peace to open a big door for the gospel.  In one village a woman who had suffered from asthma for several years was healed.  She even ran for a bit to confirm her healing.  This district is reporting 6 new house churches and 59 baptisms.
