Urgent Needs for our work in India...

We have some pressing financial needs for our work in India. 

First, we have a training scheduled for mid-March.  I had planned to go and lead this training, however, I have prayerfully made the decision to postpone my travel until my mother-in-law gets better or until the Lord frees me up to go again.  That being decided, the training must go on.

 

I am sending my good friend Mark and his co-worker in ministry, Doug.   I know that they will do a great job and am fully at peace about sending them to do this training.

 

In addition to the training need, we still have the on-going monthly support needs.  Remember, we are supporting 24 men for one-year.  You can see their latest ministry report here. We are also supporting 42 men for four months, the final month being April.  These men are seeking out people-of-peace and new opportunities to make disciples and see churches start in 14 districts where we have or know of no missionary work.

 

Here are the needs and the dates by which the funds are needed:

 

$800.00 - needed immediately to cover the March expenses for the 42 men.

 

$5,000.00 - needed before March 10 to cover the training costs.

 

$2,000.00 - needed before March 15 to cover the March expenses for the 24 men.

 

$2,200.00 - needed before March 20 to cover the April expenses for the 42 men (this will be the last installment for the 42 men).

 

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support of this work.  I do not know how God will meet these needs, but I know He will.  I know He is working through these men in India and through our training projects.  God has provided before and I believe He will provide again.  Please join me in asking for God's perfect provision of these needs.

January 2008 India Report...

January was another great month for our 24 trainers in central India. They trained 415 people in 28 different villages. They baptized 198 people, started 45 new house groups and 22 new house churches. We continue to praise the Lord for his great work through these men we trained in July of 2007, sent in October of 2007 and are now supporting for 1 year as they go to make disciples in 8 tribal districts. Please pray with us as you read the following report from each district. Pray for protection for the men and that they are able to be bright lights in the dark areas they are seeking to reach. Also, pray for financial provision for these men as we have a monthly need of $2,000.00 to cover their support.  If you would like to give to this need please go to this link and use the India category. 

 

District 1

 

Trained 61 people in 4 villages. In one village, a man was healed of asthma, which he had suffered from for more than 4 years.  In another village, a man who believed our Lord in early January shared his faith with his 45-year-old sister, who had suffered from stiffness in her joints for many years.  He prayed for her and an instant healing took place.  She and her son accepted the Lord the very same day. This district is reporting 27 baptisms, 6 new house groups and 3 new house churches in January.

 

District 2

Trained 47 people in 3 villages. In this district, our trainer has been successful in gaining access to 27 villages.  He has mobilized many brothers and sisters who have attended the training; sending them out to find access to new villages and evangelizing them and baptizing them so that churches may be started and trainings could be done.  In one village, a 13-year-old girl was healed of prolonged slow fever, which doctors had been trying to help for the last year.  This district is reporting 54 baptisms, 9 new house groups and 4 new churches in January.

District 3

Trained 63 people in 5 villages. One of our volunteers is seriously ill form typhoid and has been referred to the city hospital.  Please pray for him and his family in this hour of crisis. In one village, our trainer learned that the president of the village's worker's union in the area had suffered from arthritis for several years.  Our trainer decided to go and request a meeting and he shared the gospel with the man.  After praying for his healing, the man was instantly healed.  This resulted in the opening of this man’s home, which led to access to several new villages.  This district is reporting 7 new house groups and 5 new house churches in January.

District 4

 

Trained 59 people in 3 villages.  A man, who is a forest guard, was bit by a snake.  Some believers from the local villages prayed for him and he went to the hospital, which was 6 and a half hours away from his post.  He survived the snake bite and has started to attend the village church as a seeker for the Kingdom. Training has picked up dramatically in this district; almost 123 villages are in the waiting to have the training.  We are short of volunteers, but can not consider deputing from other districts because of language, and dialect difference. This district is reporting 4 new house groups and 38 baptisms in January.

 

District 5

 

Trained 46 people in 4 villages. There were wide spread attacks on churches and believers in January.  Some of the churches have been shut down and some believers had to flee for their life.  Please pray.  One man, who is a grocery shop keeper and has been a believer for a year and a half, had his shop and his home completely burned down.  In addition, his children and wife were beaten and wounded badly and are in the hospital. The activists were demanding that this man stop selling groceries to believers in the village.  There is no other shop for them to buy groceries within a 2 hour distance.  In another village, one sister has been healed of long term skin disease.  This district is reporting 3 new house groups and 3 new churches in January.

 

District 6

 

Trained 61 people in 3 villages. Because of the vision of the kingdom that the training material creates, 56 churches have decided to take up the whole curriculum and teach it in their churches one hour every time the church meets during worship time over the months to come.  Thanks to brother Eric for the training and material.  I will try to impart this vision to churches in other districts as well.  One man, a blacksmith by profession, has been a believer for one year.  He attended the training and has made a commitment to visit churches while he travels for his business.  Another man was healed of deafness and a long-term infection and pus in his ears. This district is reporting 7 new house groups and 4 new churches in January.

 

District 7

 

Trained 51 people in 3 villages. There are 47 volunteers in this district, out of which 9 are non-literates.  We also have 19 men who are interested to help us in the trainings.  Again, the material is so powerful, simple, reproducible and interesting that it catches immediate attention of the participants and they want to learn themselves in order to teach others.  One man has been healed of a hernia, which he was suffering from for several years. This district is reporting 62 baptisms and 9 new house groups in January.

 

District 8

 

Trained 27 people in 3 villages. In one village, a lady who had received surgery on her left breast had an infection from three months back.  When she came in contact with a believer, the whole church in the village fasted and prayed for three days for this sister and in the second week of January the doctors gave her the green light that the infection was no more. The beauty of the event is that there was no leader in the church when this fasting prayer was initiated.  It was initiated by what most people would call ordinary believers, and the impact was so great that the eye witnesses of the healing were amazed and several people came to visit the lady, trying to find about the authenticity of the news. This district is reporting 17 baptisms and 3 new churches in January.
